Matthew
Kohl, MSEd., LPC, is a Licensed Professional Counselor who holds
a Masters of Science degree in Counseling from the University of Dayton
and a Bachelor of Science degree in Secondary Social Science Education
from Wright State University.
Matt's clinical specialty is working with Adults and Adolescents in the areas of ADHD, Anger, Anxiety, Depression, and with children from divorce and broken homes. Matt began his counseling career as a therapist at the Rocking Horse Center in Springfield, Ohio, offering mental health services to children and their families experiencing emotional and behavioral problems.
“I think the one thing that attracts me most to this work is that adolescents go through the biggest changes of any age group. There's a great deal of self-discovery that happens with adolescents and young adults and I work to foster and encourage that growth. The most important thing I have to remember with any client, no matter the age, is that I don’t live their life. Instead I help them discover their own answers and the solutions that are ultimately best for them.”
When he’s not counseling adolescents and adults, Matt is coaching soccer at the high school level. He’s a member of the Ohio Counseling Association (OCA) and the National Soccer Coaches of America Association (NSCAA).
